Back to the Driftwood Boat Bar, 1 Oct 2013

so after bit of confusion getting together with aimee (the mc Donald’s with free internet only opens at 10am) we finished up yet another charter prep email to our broker. i think we finally have our rates set and out “romance” package defined. it remains to be seen if any of this gets out to the customer. i think we will end up doing our own marketing!

after this we headed over to the french market on our “rocket ship”, aka dingy. what a blast, makes going places fun again! i rapidly lost interest at the market but got my self a beer at shrimpies and wandered about until the pick up time and then we blasted back to palapa with a full load of prochuto other assorted meats, cheese champagne and yes! caviar and bagget!! alas 4 euro caviar not 2 euro but you cant have everything.

it was such a beautifully day i decided we would cancel the trip to ace hardware and rather dingy around the corner to the sunset beach bar at the end of the runway here. we dropped the dingy anchor and swam ashore. while having suboptimal margaritas at the touristy sunset beach bar we noticed our favorite beach bar down the beach was open.

we paid for the margaritas and wandered down the beach. they have improved the place since last time, same bar but more shade on the palapas and a new “kitchen”, it was a trailer before. we had much better margaritas and then as we where about to order pizza (they have the best on the island) our waitress came back to tell us they where out of gas. arrrgggg. i was convinced we where done and they “guys” would be taking the rest of the day off but i was wrong and after a few more beers we had our pizza!!

we only managed to eat half off it but took the rest to go. on the way back to the dingy i stopped to take pictures of the crazy people and the jets taking off. aimee was disappointed to not have the smallest swimsuit on the beach, we will have to rectify that next trip!

cheers
roger

  1. Wow! You are having way too much fun! Loved St Martin and brought back memories. Wondering where I could buy a bathing suit like that for myself!!! LOL!
