final rib day in st martin! 2 oct 2013

any day when you get ribs and caviar has to be a winner, especially if you through an amazing sail in on top of it!

that pretty much sums up our final day in st martin we did spend the morning getting my ENG1 physical so i can now drive mega yachts for hire, not sure how mega i can go at this point but for the time being i just need to worry about palapa.

after aimee checked us out in our new super dingy we headed over to mullet bay for our 2$ beer and 5$ rib lunch. we where a bit concerned there might not be ribs but as we approached we could smell the bbq going. we anchored a bit far off shore and we both practiced our one arm side stroke. aimee to protect her burnt hand and me to hold a beer and our dry bag.

the ribs where just as i remembered them and the beers where just as cold! we had one plate of ribs and then filled our take away dish for the upcoming 100nm trip to the usvi. after all this we decided not to keep on with the rib fest but rather have some caviar with the baguette before it went off.

it was delicious and we finished off one 4 euro tub and 2/3 of a baguette. we need to add this to our charter menu. aimee went down at sunset around 6pm and i had a relaxing sail up until midnight when she relieved me. we had un-forcast favorable wind and sub meter seas so it was a very pleasant very fast sail. aimee saw up to 13 kts on her watch with the main and polled out headsail.

the reinforcements i had made to hold the dingy with the new engine worked quite well, at least as rigid as the previous configuration with the 5hp. we should have no problem trucking it around the bvi on charter.

cheers
roger
