hooters wing monday!

so today i worked all day on the head, cross checking the fedex website waiting on the 10$ per foot “super flex” hose that was necessary for the head project completion. i got everything in place replumed for pressure water to the forward heard, drilled holes everything. then at 430 my final part arrived. it took me another hour to get the hose installed and the head bolted down.

aimee had been working topside cleaning the boat and as i came out to invite her in to check out the new head i noticed the bilge pump pumping out the side of the boat. she said “thats been happening for a while, was going to tell you..”

well “that” was a pressure water leak on what was formerly the fwd head water intake. i could hear the water hissing but i could not see it. i was quite grumpy about the situation and only agreed to go out for dinner when aimee suggested a hooters she had walked by earlier.

while she went to take a shower i pulled out the forward cabin drawers and discovered the offending piece of 1/2 inch hose spitting water. how hose fails is beyond me. the good news is this explained why we had trouble getting suction on the forward head. i also had the same problem with the water maker for the same type of hose i think.

fortunately i had spare (new) hose so i got some out and by the time aimee returned i was in a more positive mood. we had a great dinner a hooters (aimee’s first visit). we got two sets of wings and then i could not resist the jalopina chilly cheese fries. aimee claimed she had no interest but i had to fend her off to keep enough leftovers for me.

tomorrow i will complete the head and hopefully get close to finishing up here, i am not sure how much we are paying but i am pretty sure it is out of our budget especially coupled with all the parts. also looks like i am in need of a shave and another haircut!

cheers,
roger
