so yesterday aimee made the mistake of commenting that she finally felt ok with the boats appearance. i interpreted this to mean we should take palapa over to meet our broaker this am. my ulterior motive as to check out seth’s new boat as well in village cay.
apparently ready was not quite “ready” so after a frantic morning of more stainless polishing we where back to the ready state. i brought the boat back over to village cay but somehow under way we became no longer “ready” again.
after some miscommunication on the docking requiring a second pass (i asked aimee to through the bow line to the dock hand and he asked for the midship line). on the second pass he was given the correct line and all was well.
after yet another pass on the interior of the boat we where again “ready” and i went up to fetch the broker. she was super nice and accepted my offer of a beer (if only we had the beer cooler cockpit table installed). here only comments was we needed more clutter and should recover the port cushions. i took this as too thumbs up and it must have been as later she offered us a last minute charter starting tomorrow. we thought about doing it but in the end decided the green card appointment and fiberglass schedule and aimee’s toe all lid p for a no.
as soon as the broker left i headed off to help seth and jaimee move onto the new “yacht”. 58 feet is HUGE. take a look at seth up on the fly bridge. we are looking down on almost every boat in the marina. he has an ice maker and water maker that need to be installed and tested. the two engine rooms are as big as our cabins and you could sleep on the 20kw genset in one of them. amazing story from slapdash to having someone hand you the keys to one of these (actually there are no keys just buttons).
in any case looking fwd to spending some time with the ex slappers getting to know all the systems on this beast!
Cat’s are big! Nice!
Sounds like your charter business is going to keep you busy and with a cash flow.
Hey, sorry about that call a couple of weeks ago, I picked you up in a hotel in Lafayette Louisiana right before my 2 year old did a face plant on the edge of the fold out bed. It was a bloody mess to say the least! Hopefully next time you call I won’t have my hands full.
