usvi boat show kick off – 4 nov 2013

so it continued raining until noon the day before the show. fortunately aimee had completed the stainless and the waxing and polishing so palapa cleaned up pretty quickly.

the night before the show we headed out to the welcome event. of course aimee got the arrival time wrong and we showed up at 5pm vs 8pm. we had also shared this info with jeremi and his wife on another monohull “quest” next to us. this led to an extended happy hour followed by the free drink/food event at 8pm.

bottom line we started the show a bit more slowly than we anticipated but i was up at dawn cleaning the outside of the boat setting out the toys and aimee organized the interior so by the time the first broker arrived we where in tip top shape.

in spite of being at the end of the dock there was very litte down time. it was basically like any trade show, none stop talking and answering the same questions telling the same stories while sucking down cofee and diet coke. aimee got tyo hang in the kitchen making treats for the guests while i manned the cockpit in 95F + temps

of course aimee invited brokers and crews over to palapa for margaritas for happy hour and we ended up with a jumbi dancing to jimmy buffet on dave’s accordion on night number one.

only 7 or 8 more days of this until the usvi and the bvi shows are over!

cheers
roger
