so scott finally made it back to culebra to research day charter options. we took him straight to zacos for great tacos and some margaritas. of course he reported that diana and ben where back in the bvi staying on the slappers moorings cat and some other friends had also just arrived on a charter cat. as we chatted over margaritas back on palapa i decided if we left now we could be there at dawn and meet up with them before they had to leave!
no sooner had i announced my plan than scott and aimee jumped into motion securing everything and getting the anchor up. as we motored out of the bay we where treated to a brilliant sun set. don was on board at the time and after asking “really” are you “really going to go” a few times jumped in his dingy as the anchor came up.
we made a brief watch plan handed out strobes and man overboard devices and settled in for the trip. scott and i took the first watch while aimee napped and we had a brilliant moon that made for easy navigation. before we new it we where coming up on jost van dyke the closest BVI island. we dropped the anchor around 3am and went down for what would turn out to be a brief nap!
cheers, roger
