another hard day at the office, 22 sept 2013

so today we rewrote the board (again). had a “team meeting” as aimee likes to do every am and plotted our plan forward. our oct charter got taken off the list so we have until 1 nov to get the boat ready for the two boat shows.

the primary goal today was the bottom. we spent about 2.5 hours in the water. me on the hooka and aimee with a snorkel. she got the first 3 feet from the waterline and i got the keel and rudder. it was very slow going. we had the bottom done in Antigua while we where gone but they only got the tops off the barnacles so we where literally going barnacle by barnacle scraping off the white bits. there has to be a better way!

we knocked off at 4 to watch the cup on utube. it was a great series of races with almost no glitches on the internet. we are literally out in the middle of no where but are somehow getting great wifi from the “fort harmon” restaurant that is not open but transmitting away. will be interested to see how long oracle can keep wining, amazing series of races!

while i watched the first race aimee got our tuna ready for dinner. we had a great series of suchimi appetizers during the races and then i fired up the bbq for tuna and mushroom kabobs, delicious!

i think we have a few more days of bottom cleaning to go along with the other projects. the other one on my plate is getting together recommendations from all our previous guests. aimee has to wax the back of the boat after removing our hailing port pending replacement with a new decal.

the screen was a lot clearer than it appeared in the photo!

cheers,
Roger

  1. It looks lovely over there. Is that your captain’s license in the computer screen?
