Aimee got us up bright and early to head south the 18nm to dominica. We where concerned the winds would shift more southerly latter in the day so we bashed east around the island before heading south. This turned out to be unnecessary pain as we had more of a reach for the short sail down. We did get a bit of practice hand steering once we got in the lee of the island with the winds switching...

We awoke early to winds blowing out of the south, into our anchorage. I was glad we had decided not to head south today and wasted no time dropping the mooring and heading for the more sheltered part of the bay off the “main town”. we tried the “yacht club” first but this seemed to have seen better days with no dock and no wifi regardless of what the cruising guide...

Aimee got me up for watch at 4am. So this am we thought we had only a few things to “grab” before leaving, alas this turned out to be harder than expected. the irony of the day was the dude who “saved” palapa needed a ride to shore at 7am for a job. of course i took him and did not ask him to pay me for dingy fuel:)

Today was even more of a full on day than the day before. We started off with getting the anchor up and entering the lagoon on the 930am bridge.
