today i took Aimee and jen into shore for a bus to town for provisioning. jen really likes to get started early and they actually ended up at the market before 8 and before it opened. i used the time to do some work work on palapa. this work is not to be confused with the “boat” work that keeps me occupied the rest of the time.

earlier in the day one of the locals had come by offering wine and oysters. we had plenty of wine from st marteen but we did get a dozen or so oysters for 17EC. The plan had been to BBQ them for lunch but that rolled into a dinner appetizer with aimee and jen making pizzas. the oysters turned out to be such a hit that when another local entrepreneur came by we decided to get some more. this...

so last night mary had done a great job asking me about “why i loved Catalina” questions. pretty much the only thing i could come up with that i did not love about Catalina was the leaking windows. they are not actually made by Catalina but on the 440 they are quite large and seem to not always been manufactured optimally. on palapa the forward port and aft port window still leak. ...

we took our time getting under way this am with aimee creating a new breakfast delight. this one is the gaucamole egg wrap. aimee starts with a thin egg omelet, this one had cheese and basil and a few other things. then wraps it burrito style around fresh gucaomole. not surprisingly it was delicious! we need to make sure we keep getting these great avocados!
