we headed over early from norman to watch/help don get coconutz hauled. we got there at 730am and he was already positioned in the travel lift for the pull.
it was pretty uneventful other than having to turn around in the lift and later discovering the reason it was so difficult was that the guys who serviced his hydraulic steering got the rudders out of alignment so one was always facing out...

after another grueling day of projects we headed over to double d for my famous mac and cheese. and yes it involves bacon, apparently not enough as you can see seth has scarfed all his off the plate by this point. we followed the dinner up with lonesome saddle on the big screen tv on double d. was the first time i had seen this. dont think they could get away with...

so just to keep things interesting scott arrived for the last day of the bvi boat show. this was another reason for having too much fun. it did not help he showed up the night of the 80’s party. by this point we had made some great new friends and spent the night dancing away to 80s music. somehow the caterers left without kicking everyone out so we found ourselves with the dj still...

so it continued raining until noon the day before the show. fortunately aimee had completed the stainless and the waxing and polishing so palapa cleaned up pretty quickly.
the night before the show we headed out to the welcome event. of course aimee got the arrival time wrong and we showed up at 5pm vs 8pm. we had also shared this info with jeremi and his wife on another monohull...

so we decided we needed to get back to the usvi a few days before the show to get everything lined up. we had a great sail over with aimee’s friend alex and just got him to the dock in time for his flight back. we elected to stay on the fuel dock opposite the cruise ship dock for a few days before we move out to the nosebleed end of the dock with all the monohulls.
