Ballyhoo fishing on our way to Culebra for NYE

We left Old San Juan the morning that Roger’s parents departed and decided to make our way back to Culebra for their famous NYE party. We tried fishing with Ballyhoo for the first time as all our Powerboat Fish Junkie friends form Club Nautico recommended it to us… we ran into some hungry fish along the way, ate some ceviche, and enjoyed the mild conditions perfect...

New Windows!

Roger and Don put 2 new windows into Palapa during our stay at Club Nautico de San Juan making her virtually leak free… well almost. Forward hatch is still got some minor leakage but it’s on the board. Roger has been working his butt off on the BIA watch project so I’m now taking on some of his task including this blog. I prefer the picture part not quite the avid writer Roger is but my spelling is better.

Palapa Parents in the BVI Take 3

Corona parents came to meet us in BVI’s for the 3rd whirlwind Palapa tour of the BVI’s which included a first trip to Anegada and the usual faves… Myetts, Saba Rock, Leverick and Soggy Dollar. Roger was working most of the time so George was my first mate and I’m pretty sure we are good to sail palapa on our own now except we got in a bit of trouble from Captain Roger when decided to sail through a Regatta…Big thanks to them for smuggling in all the smoked salmon and beef jerky and boat parts and also for...

thanksgiving in culebra! – 22 nov 2012

so we implemented out thanksgiving plan flawlessly. the only problem was it was challenging to pull aimee away from the computer as she was working for a Canadian company. we kicked the event off proptly at noon with a 2 hour segment of beer drinking and bbqing prior to our 3pm arrival time at our friends boat. don came by on schedule and we popped the first beer promptly at noon. we had bacon wrapped shrimp along with acorn and butter nut squash and sweet pototo. on the bbq. we got everything prepped and the squash on the grill at 1pm. it...

back in culuebra! – 21 nov 2012

so we left early and got back yesterday before noon so aimee would be “at work” by 8am Vancouver time. its great having a head start on the west coast but not so great when they expect you to be “available” until past our 8pm bed time! it was a bit overcast all day perfect for working. alas it looks like my job may be taking a break due to funding or lack there of. or probably more likely the job will continue but the pay will take a break! don and i made plans for the thankging bbq items that we will be taking over...

yoga road trip – 18 nov 2012

so today we managed to to rent a car. it was a bit of a cluster trying to rent one with scotts canceled credit cards and my expired license but finally after about 30 minutes of retyping in the data over and over they got a combination to work. we headed back and picked up aimee and began our tour of the island. we ran into jug at another cool bar on the north side of the island but alas due to shallow water and ferry wash there is no anchoring option. from there we headed on an all island tour. this turned out to be a bit ambitious for one...
