we headed over early from norman to watch/help don get coconutz hauled. we got there at 730am and he was already positioned in the travel lift for the pull.
it was pretty uneventful other than having to turn around in the lift and later discovering the reason it was so difficult was that the guys who serviced his hydraulic steering got the rudders out of alignment so one was always facing out and the outer amidship when hard over. it is a good thing he got hauled before leaving the marina.
it is always amazing to watch your home plucked from the water and dropped on dry land. don is hoping to be out of the yard in a week or two after doing the bottom and having the sides polished. he is going to put coconutz up for sale and look for a smaller mono or something as he has 4 cabins and sleeps in his cockpit or salon.
we had another pizza at muligans to celebrate the event. tomorrow we are off to the usvi if things go as planned.
