crew change! – 13 nov 2013

so we where finally feeling a little worn down but still decided to move palapa over to the bitter end first thing in the am to get one of our movements done. aimee did a bit of a clean up and discovered she was missing the liner to her new trash can. richie piped up “i think i might have thrown that over board” after a bit of an exchange with richie she asked all the boys to “leave the boat” so she could get things under control.

we figured this would be a good time for richie and westly to leave the boat permanently so we organized a ferry for them and had a beer or two at the bar. eventually aimee called and asked us to return. ironically by this time scott had organized for his friend darra to come up via ferry to visit in fact she was arriving on the same ferry taking the boys out.

we had a good hour to prep palapa for our new guest and then once darra arrived we headed over to the beach for bochi and water sports. along the way we ran into freedom a massive 52 foot cat and invited them as well. we anchored right off the beach and got the new cooler and bochi to shore. freedom one uped our close anchoring by beaching their cat on the boch course.

aimee made some great sandwiches which saved us from certain death and we kicked the bochi game off. amazingly it was so hot we eventually had to call the game and huddle under one of the palapas. this was nice until someone suggested a foot race. needless to say i did not participate but the freedoms crew from grenada won hands down, super tall black dude that looked like he should be in the olympics!

we finally transitioned to the scurf contest and after a few tries everyone was able to get up on the sup and a few hot shots got up on the short board. i cant believe we have gotten so much use out of the board we got from slapdash that they carried half way around the world with them! thanks guys!

after the sports event we headed over to saba to join emily and burt for cracked conch and coch fritters. amazingly we decided to stay put on anchor just off saba for the night. only a 3 move day.

cheers
roger
