fibergalss project 1 complete! – 24 oct 2013

marcello had sprayed the area with gelcoat the previous evening and today he came by and wet sanded everything. when he was done you could not see any evidence of a hole. amazing. i wish i had the patience to do this sort of work. i seem to do much better with projects that involve nut and bolts not chemicals!

aimee and i did a final wash down of palapa before heading over to road town. seth had messaged he had secured access to all the “parts” for his dingy and desperately needed some tech support installing the engine running cables connecting the battery etc.

the wind and swell where up so after about 5 minutes the boat was covered with saltwater. so much for the calm sea period. we dropped the hook in the little road time anchorage and there was seth in a loaner to pick me and the hole saws up. i left aimee to wash down the boat and headed over to the dingy yard.

it was late but with a little help from some of the local workers we got two holes drilled for the main engine and got it bolted to the transom and 5200ed in. we thought about drilling other holes but we where loosing light and the sand flees where swarming so we declared vicrtory and seth took us all out for what turned out to be a delicious steak dinner. i am agine i will be earning this dinner tomorrow as he is trying to get the tender launched and DD out of the harbor for its maiden voyage!

cheers
roger
