well we where enjoying a “final” “relaxing” day at our favorite island in preparation for the americas cup final, alas this was not exactly what was to be! we did another beach day and relaxed in the foot deep water on perfect sand. i had a few beers while aimee worked on her water yoga routine. we had so much fun we had to send aimee on a supply run to bring back the paddle board and some more beers.
we finally swam back to palapa for the cup event. as we where drying off i noticed our friends from the other night approaching via dingy and yelled for aimee to put something on. of course we invited them over for drinks, they arrived with brandy sprite and ice, always a good sign. one thing led to another and after some delicious salmon i decided we where going to need to improvise a bbq and invited them to stay. “way not” was wayne’s response.
fortunately i had stocked up on chicken thighs at the big grocery so i thawed these while aimee boiled all the rice we had. the chicken came out perfectly with my special spicy bbq sauce (in spite of the fire on the grill from time to time). in no time the chicken was gone and then almost all the rice was gone as people opted for the “sauce” and rice option.
fortunately they had to run off to get someone home around 8 or we would have killed our selves again! we settled in to watch the americas cup on u-tube. it was just like it was in real time and what an amazing race. i thought for sure the americans where toast towards the start bug again the managed to blow past the kiwi’s. absolutely amazing series.
i hope everyone in the bay area got up there for what had to be an amazing party!
