well today turned out to be another pretty full day. we started out with a bit of work. larry thanks for the glasses i am using them more and more now. aimee did make me put a shirt on for this shot. this was followed by banana smoothies for breakfast. did i mention we had too many bananas thanks to sietse not having any small change the night before. yes sietes is naked in the dingy, he swam over sans cloths and we did not want to let him take the towel home.
after breakfast fun it was time to get some work done. siets and i headed into shore to get more fuel for our dingy. we had been using their fuel and our dingy as our fuel had flipped in the dingy on the passage and all the petrol had evaporated leaving just oil, yuck. in any case we got fuel after a few tries and then headed back to the boats. as we where heading back siets mentioned jen had told him to check out this pool bar at this resort near the fuel dock. aimee was working on stainless and jen was varnishing so not wanting t o interrupt we made a u turn anad headed back to the resort.
the pool bar was quite nice but the beers where a bit steep 8EC for a draft beer which was actually 1.5 bottles of piton. we had a great time talking about 2 stroke and 4 stroke outboards and eventually returned an “hour” or so latter. we found jen and aimee on palapa having knocked off their jobs and decided we would have jen make us fish cakes for dinner. this would turn out to be a very long process.
along the way we entertained one of the locals who was trying to sell fruit in a catamaran. he complained he had no luck with anyone. we had no money but offered to send siets to help with the selling process. in the end i think siets only really helped with the paddling. we gave the guy one of our last haha shirts which he wore proudly as he paddled off.
next we got distracted by another water sport event. it was decided that the SUB boarding yesterday was too easy and sietse and aimee wanted to try the short board. i got “roped” into driving and they both got up multiple times. this was followed by more swimming and then the dance portion of the event. you can see the photo of me getting the dance party started on the lido deck.
finally the fish cakes where done. jen did an awesome job. along with the fish cakes we had plantains and mango and rice. very professionally done and very delicious! we are going through our fish reserves so hopefully we will catch something on the next passage. we need to get out of here soon as we are having waay to much fun!
