I hate it that i even know what day of the week it is and amazingly we managed to take no photo’s this week at all. we still managed to move every one or two days jumping from cruisers wifi to cruisers wifi spot but i spent 6am to 5pm on the computer, with a few evening calls as well. Today the plan was for aimee to take a tour of the island (or at least part of it) as she is heading home soon for a wedding and her mom’s bday:( and then go hit happy hour with the waka’s
i dingied aimee into shore in the am after her on board yoga session. i discovered the budget marine sale and was forced to not pass up a few good deals. 2 new jerry jugs (for our rum distillery visit) fishing “reel” for aimee, proper wire strippers, matt for the dingy floor to keep stuff dry and a vhf speaker for the waka’s. you may remember at some point the waka radio project that determined the internal speaker on the vhf was toast. everything was about 40% off so i only dropped about 400ec on this all in about 10 minutes as the store filled to capacity.
i spent the rest of the day working on the computer (had to buy two different wifi connections as they took turns failing and finally headed to shore with my laptop. of course it was so windy the wind blew the table cloth up and knocked my presidente beer over right into my keyboard. this while i was on a call reviewing a schematic. i had to hang up shut it down and flip it over and then blot the beer off. after a few minutes i could not wait any longer and rebooted. the good news was it worked but now has a “unique” key press feel and not in a good way.
aimee retuned from her walk about, see the tons of pics. she basically walked all the way to town. after a bit of miscommunication on “lunch” we got two chill potatos take away for me. we got back to palapa and of course could not get the internet to work to book aimee’s ticket and we where late for happy hour with the wakas at nimrods, 3 for 10 ec beer, basically free. we decided to head around anyway and try our luck on the internet at hogs island.
alas by the time we got to hogs island and anchored and we bought aimee’s ticket, (we ended up using my miles as it seems impossible to plan these trips in advance enough to get any sort of deal on tickets) the waka’s had returned from happy hour. in our defense they had started early but in any case we missed it. aimee had wrapped up their “present” so we gave this to them had a few beers and then i headed over for dinner on waka irie while aimee declared an early victory for the evening after her long day hiking.
cheers, Roger
Nice catch of the day shots there.
Great how you manage to spell my name wrong 5 different ways.
Even our boatname is mentioned with 2 different spellings.
keep up the spelling-check free blogging!!!!
