so today we wasted no time heading over to the dingy for the maiden voyage. i was ready to launch out of the gate but seth wanted to wash the dingy first. after an hour of spraying we where ready to go. seth and i envisioned a multi person process but the dingy dock guys just pushed the boat forward and let is slide down the ramp (with fake wood cross bars) and splash into the water knocking the other dingies out of the way.
we scampered on and started the motor with a turn of the key, you can hardly tell it is running it is so quite. i dont know who was happier about the new dingy; me for personal accomplishment reasons, seth for obvious dingy ownership reasons, jaimee who could finally get off the dock or aimee who could get me back on palapa for more boat projects!
seth and i headed over to the yamaha dealer to trouble shoot the tach with plans to get off the dock as soon as we returned. the debug was a bust but we had a nice (slow) break in ride over to fish bay and back.
after yet another attempt to get the tach going with more parts we put the dingy on the platform and hoisted her onto double D. by this time it was getting late and windy so i rigged a spring line for seth on the port bow so he could spring away from the downwind finger and we flawlessly left the dock.
we headed over to norman island and anchored by the old beach bar that burnt down. jaimee had us over for a delicious beef Wellington dinner. i would not stop helping my self to more! we almost made it through the “dude” on the 52 inch plasma with bose surround sound and apple tv before heading back to our servant quarters aboard palapa!
cheers,
roger
