well another full day today. in fact this may be a record of 3 countries and 4 stops. it was finally not raining and after checking email we got under way for our 3nm trip to petite st vincent. aimee wanted to stop at an “island” on the way. i was fine with this but the “island was not exactly what i was expecting, more like spot of sand. when we arrived there was already a boat there and another arrived shortly afterwards so we wasted no time getting to shore.
after dragging the dingy up to the “high” point on the island and deploying the anchor we staked our claim to the limited real estate palapa. we sat back and enjoyed our cold presidentas and watched the other dinghies head in. both boats turned out to be charter boats with lots of people and gear. they where clearly disappointed theey had not had the forsight to bring beer and sent their captains back for refreshments.
from here we went to petite st vincent for our lunch anchor. we picked a non-anchorage off the uninhabited side of the island but by afternoon we had several neighbors. aimee wanted to check out petite martinique as well (FOMO) so we did another 3nm motor over there. this place was very off the beaten track, no charter boats. we made it to the “store” before closing and replenished our rum supply. the place was not super exciting and no perfect beach so we decided to move once again.
this time a couple hundred meters across the channel back to the resort side of petite st vincent. this was beutiful but we assessed the bar as way out of our price range so we relaxed on palapa and watched another sunset. tomorrow i think we will meet up with jen and sietse again.
cheers – roger
Is that Robinson Crusoe with his mermaid on petite island? Cute.
