scotts final day – 15 nov 2013

so today was scotts last day in the bvi. we had tried unsuccessfully to talk him into staying a few days but alas he stuck to his guns. aimee and i got up bright and early to take a mass of laundry into leverick only to discover we where 5 minutes to late and all the machines where in use. fortunately aimee had reserved us our favorite spot on the dock so we brought palapa in for some tlc and provisioning. it is amazing how easy it is to dock with 4 crew that all know what they are doing, almost cheating!

seth docked double D just after we did and scott went over to help with the lines. we would find out later just as seth was docking both throttles started flashing at him. it is a fly by wire system so he did not know if he had and any control or not. after his guests left for the baths we trouble shot it eventually having turn off the 3 battery banks to get the flashing to stop.

scott got on the ferry at noon for his planes trains and automobiles event back to st thomas and FL. after getting palapa ship shape an old friend of scott and mine from mexico days, ben and his gf Rachel stopped by. they where bummed they had missed scott and we ended up having another palapa party in the cockpit. some other friends on a conch charter bareboat we had met in saba came by with all their booze as they had to leave the next day.

eventually the party broke up. i would discover later darra had gotten invited over to necker island to some party where she saw jimmy buffet playing! i think the party was $2500 a head or something for some tennis thing. eventually perhaps i will run into jimmy out on an island somewhere, not quite ready to pay 2500 to hear him play or go back to the real world!

we hope to see scott back out here sooner than later!

cheers
roger
