so we implemented out thanksgiving plan flawlessly. the only problem was it was challenging to pull aimee away from the computer as she was working for a Canadian company.
we kicked the event off proptly at noon with a 2 hour segment of beer drinking and bbqing prior to our 3pm arrival time at our friends boat. don came by on schedule and we popped the first beer promptly at noon. we had bacon wrapped shrimp along with acorn and butter nut squash and sweet pototo. on the bbq. we got everything prepped and the squash on the grill at 1pm. it ended up taking us over 1.5 hours on the squash with copious amounts of butter being brushed on during the grilling.
this only left 30 minutes for the shrimp which turned out to be not quite long enough so we where a bit late. the shrimp where a huge hit and you can see me preparing my secret spicing bbq sauce down below. the ]y where almost too much of a hit as the hostess looked like she was getting a bit jealous at all the guests raving about them. we just barley saved a few for aimee who we finally dragged away from work.
the dinner was full on traditional thanksgiving with a turkey, stuffing, even green been casserole. it was hard to afford gorging ones self! i jumped on the grenada going back for several helpings just to make sure the cook was happy!
we will need a food free recovery day manana! cheers roger
